William Prince to Perform on JUNO Award Broadcast, Further From the Country JUNO Nominated for Contemporary Album of the Year
William Prince expands the Further From the Country galaxy with a new duet version of a classic honkytonk kiss-off, “Flowers on the Dash,” featuring Tami Neilson. A dose of Neon Cowgirl country and soul turns “Flowers on the Dash” into a comic squabble, with Prince and Neilson trading grievances and excuses before Neilson gets the last word.
“Tami is one of the most powerful voices I've ever experienced,” says Prince. “Watching her over the years made her a natural pick for a country duet. She embodies the charisma and charm of this song and I'm honoured we finally get to sing one together.
“From being nominated alongside each other at the Junos to eating tacos backstage on Willie Nelson’s ranch, it’s always a joy when our paths cross,” says Neilson of the collaboration. “So, I was thrilled when he asked if those paths could cross musically for a duet and told him I’d be the Dolly to his Kenny anytime! He sent me Flowers on the Dash and I listened to it as I was driving my boys to school, slapping the steering wheel, exclaiming, “Now THAT’S some Country Music, kids!”
Now nominated for JUNO Awards Contemporary Roots Album of the Year, Further From the Country showcases Prince’s potent and emotional storytelling across folk, Americana and country soundscapes. Prince will perform at the JUNO Awards in Hamilton on March 29, 2026.
The national Further From the Country Tour kicks off next Saturday, February 28, and will bring Prince and his full band across the country with special guest Boy Golden. See tour dates below.
