We seek a new member of our finance and administration team for the role of Finance Associate, reporting to the Director of Administration & Analytics.

Responsibilities will be as follows:
BOOKKEEPING
Under the supervision of the Director of Administration & Analytics, accurately record day to day financial transactions including accounts payable and receivable
Reconcile company credit card and bank accounts in accordance with month end accounting close processes ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Work with divisional leadership (VP Finance, VP Marketing) on timely divisional budget reporting of budget to actuals.
Manage day-to-day bank transactions and credit card activity; prepare payments for processing.
Organize and store all financial records systematically including scanning receipts and related filing (physical and digital).
Enforce compliance of internal control policies while maintaining a patient and friendly style of communication with your coworkers. Provide resources and support when employees encounter difficulties or have questions about the bookkeeping system.
Assist with the year-end Review engagements/auditors for two operating entities.
Assist with providing ad hoc reporting as needed.
Utilize technology to automate routine processes, such as sending reminders for missing information or chasing overdue items, to improve workflow efficiency and compliance.
Ensure the accuracy of the general ledger by reconciling accounts and correcting discrepancies.
Monitor expenses and recommend cost-saving measures.
Other various accounting and financial related duties as required
DATA & ADMINISTRATION
Collate financial backups, and clean registrations data for the Director of Administration & Analytics in a timely manner on a monthly basis.
Provide support for ad hoc data projects as required
Requirements:
Degree (or working towards) in accounting or finance preferred.
Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Wave, or FreshBooks.
Excel/Google sheets experience with knowledge of pivot tables, lookups etc
Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and practices.
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to analyze financial data and identify discrepancies.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for vendor and client interactions.
Nice to Haves & Attributes:
Experience in the music industry
A working knowledge of publishing and or registrations
Knowledge of Microsoft Copilot and/or Google Gemini
Job Specs
Reporting to: Director of Administration & Analytics
Job type: 12 month contract with possibility of conversion to permanent position
Hours: Monday-Friday 10:00AM – 6:00PM
Location: Toronto-based exclusively. This is an in-office position 5 days/week.
Compensation and benefits: $55,000-$60,000 annual salary. Health and dental benefits. 3 weeks vacation, plus the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day. Half day Fridays in the summer.
