Today, Boy Golden releases a new song “Pity” to announce the deluxe edition of his critically acclaimed album, Best of Our Possible Lives, which arrives October 16, 2026. Boy Golden has also announced Canadian and USA headline touring this fall and winter, with tickets on sale tomorrow, Friday, Sept 11.
With its doubled 12-strings and fretless bass, “Pity” bends and flows in psychedelic swirls, featuring the mighty guitars and drums of Austin Parachoniak and tender backing vocals by FONTINE. ‘Easy to carry but heavy to hold’ it goes, and as with Boy Golden’s meditations throughout Best of Our Possible Lives, “Pity” examines life’s quandaries and questions as they come.
“Pity is about the feeling that our modern lives are not what they 'should' be,” says Boy Golden. “Sometimes, when I get moving so fast, when I get so busy, the glue that binds my world starts to break down. Cynicism and exhaustion creep in at the edges. I start feeling like a kind of machine that is set to 'make music' and 'do stuff'. Then, sometimes you get a breath of fresh air - sometimes literally - especially if you are surrounded by nature and hear the sound of silence. Then it really seems like a 'pity' to be living in the city, surrounded by whatever people call brains, fame, or strange these days.”
The Americana Honors & Awards Emerging Act of the Year nominee returns to Nashville next week for an AmericanaFest packed with full band appearances including the Paste Day Party, Western AF, and his official showcase on Friday, September 18.
Upcoming touring includes September support shows with Bahamas, newly announced headline tour in Canada in November that includes two-night stands in Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg, a stop at the Mod Club in Toronto, and more. Boy Golden kicks off the new year with shows in Nashville, Washington D.C., Philadelphia, New York and more.

A moonstone glow infuses Boy Golden’s Best of Our Possible Lives, an album that reveals its properties - intuition, emotional balance and transformation - through twelve songs of self-discovery. With Best of Our Possible Lives, songwriter/producer Boy Golden’s artistic approach is as philosophical as it is musical. This new work finds him mid-journey, on a quest for honesty with a willingness to examine and accept the self as it was, as it is, and as it can be.
Buoyant, smooth and disarming, as a whole Best of Our Possible Lives draws lines from the Tulsa sound to swampy New Orleans folk. With the lo-fi mystery of mk.gee, the laid-back swagger of MJ Lenderman and the lyrical intimacy of Waxhatchee, Boy Golden’s music is fresh, observational and honest. His melodies wax nostalgia for the giants (think Paul Simon, Tom Petty and J.J. Cale), yet ring true as the work of a young artist, right now.
Who is Boy Golden? A conduit for creation, this artistic persona is both an abstraction and a distillation. A shortcut to the flow state, perhaps, Boy Golden grants access to an inner world that can only be known through songwriting. His previous three albums, which include the wistful For Eden, rollicking For Jimmy and debut album, Boy Golden’s lemon yellow leisure suited Church of Better Daze, have served as a psychic clearing of way for Best of Our Possible Lives. “Each new body of work I have finished has pushed me personally towards greater acceptance of myself as a whole person.”
