The job description includes but is not limited to the following areas of responsibility:

RESPONSIBILITIES

LIVE

  • Prepare touring budgets/alternate scenarios and be able to make recommendations.

  • Liaise with booking agents, signing contracts, checking routings and tour details including announce plans and marketing.

  • Oversee all tour logistics working with Tour Director or Tour Manager (and manager), including work visas, travel, tech and hospitality riders, advancing shows/events when required, stage set design and ordering gear/transportation and shipping logistics.

  • Working and negotiating with production vendors, bus, truck and freight suppliers to ensure gear, transport and logistical needs are locked in well ahead of time and to budget.

  • Hire, liaise, negotiate with, and communicate with artist band and crew (tech, musicians, etc).

  • Ensure all songs and set lists are properly registered, working with admin department.

GENERAL MARKETING

  • Share updates with label/marketing team, follow through on all projects, specifically execution of social media posting, monitoring and interaction.

  • Attend all management and marketing meetings related to the artist and act as central communication hub including assisting with setting agendas and keeping projects on task.

  • Manage artist website updates.

  • Oversee accounts such as Patreon/discord/substack etc., where necessary.

TOUR MARKETING

  • Ensure all tour marketing posts/announces/pre-sales/updates are diarised and executed correctly (including tags/hashtags) and in a timely manner.

  • Liaise with promoters/manager on asset creation.

  • Ensure all show marketing plans are delivered by promoters, advise where edits could be made and that activities take place at the correct time.

  • Monitoring ticket sales and flagging areas of concern.

  • Consider physical retail marketing in touring markets (local record store opportunities etc.)

SOCIAL MEDIA

  • Work with artist to oversee and execute social media posts.

  • Maintain a strategic social media calendar and gather and suggest assets and copy for approval.

  • Bring forward creative ideas for social content.

  • Maintain content files/folders for easy use.

  • Monitor and maintain all social media accounts (for spam, reply to fans, shares etc.).

  • Work with label marketing on the coordination/integration of label driven social media campaigns on artist social media platforms.

MERCHANDISE

  • In consultation with manager and merch company/team, plan merch strategies for both touring and webstore sales. This includes product mix, co-ordinating designs and researching potential designers, sourcing product, planning quantities, soliciting quotes etc. in a timely manner.

  • Planning and executing efficient shipping strategy for tour, including tracking responsibility.

  • Liaise with merch fulfillment company, webstore operators and tour merch team to manage inventory and marketing graphics.

  • Plan and execute a social media marketing plan for merch sales.

ADMINISTRATION AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT

  • Provide production assistance & management to all photo & video shoots, live stream performances, interviews, recording sessions etc.

  • Apply for and complete all grants (touring, recording, other projects) keeping track of upcoming deadlines and project managing the application process.

  • Manage and maintain the artist calendar.

  • Maintain admin/personal information files as well as portals and password maintenance.

  • Manage/organize artist files in an easy to use and orderly fashion.

  • Work with label/publisher on metadata and album artwork and credits.

  • Work with business manager where relevant for payments and receipt maintenance.

  • Special projects for artist, as required.

  • Other duties as required.

Job Specs

Reporting to: President of Six Shooter Inc.

Hours: Monday-Friday 10:00AM – 6:00PM

Location: Toronto-based exclusively. This is an in-office position 5 days/week.

Compensation and benefits: $60,000-$70,000 annual salary. Health and dental benefits. 3 weeks vacation, plus the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day. Half day Fridays in the summer.

Start Date: As soon as possible, to be negotiated.
