2015 Interstellar Rodeo Festival Lineups

Six Shooter Records, label home to an eclectic mix of exceptional talents, (Whitehorse, Tanya Tagaq, Hawksley Workman, Sam Outlaw and more) goes big in 2015 by launching a new edition of Interstellar Rodeo in Winnipeg, MB. Interstellar Rodeo Edmonton takes place in Hawrelak Park July 24-26 and Interstellar Rodeo Winnipeg comes to The Forks, August 14-16. With a keen ear for artistic excellence, high standards and tireless energy, Six Shooter Records has the the guts to go for it and the expertise required to make it great.

It's all about the vibe: Interstellar Rodeo offers an inspired twist on the music festival experience with its fine wine and artist pairings. Interstellar Rodeo is refined but not pretentious; exciting but not overwhelming (both festivals pack everything onto just one stage), and a chance for music fans to enjoy meticulously curated lineups that emphasize discovery.

Hawrelak Park is a natural amphitheatre in downtown Edmonton, AB, an emerald oasis in the heart of the city. With its distinctive star-shaped bandshell and covered seating, among other amenities, Hawrelak Park is an intimate and stunning setting for Interstellar Rodeo. Capacity is limited to 3000 guests, making Interstellar Rodeo an exclusive and personal experience. The entire space is licensed, meaning guests can enjoy the unique wine pairings sitting in their seats or lounging on the slope.

The Forks is a vibrant hub in the middle of downtown Winnipeg. Interstellar Rodeo will be setting up a festival site, including building a bigger stage with better sightlines, in the field around the Scotiabank stage. The Forks is walkable from all points downtown, and with its fully licensed site, Interstellar Rodeo aims to provide a pedestrian-friendly experience that feels connected to the city. With both the brand new Human Rights Museum and equally majestic Red River in the background, festival goers will be watching the show and sipping wine in a unique urban green space.

As festival producers, Six Shooter also brings its ear for musical discovery, making Interstellar Rodeo the first point of contact for many new and exciting international artists. Previous Edmonton editions have brought the following artists to the city for the first time ever: Gillian Welch, Randy Newman, Wagons (all 2012); Alabama Shakes, Kurt Vile, M. Ward, Garifuna Collective, John Fullbright (all 2013); Amos Lee, Lee Fields & the Expressions, Hydra, The Lone Bellow, Jason Isbell, St. Paul & the Broken Bones (all 2014). Interstellar is proud to be the first to present Sinead O’Connor, Rhiannon Giddens and The Lone Bellow in Winnipeg; new artists to Edmonton in 2015 include St. Vincent, Elle King, Father John Misty, Rhiannon Giddens, Justin Townes Earle and Lake Street Dive.
