FORD PIER PLAYS INSTRUMENTS AND SINGS AND STUFF...IN FRONT OF PEOPLE!

Don't miss the Ford Pier show this Friday (tonight) in Toronto at the El Mocambo! Ford will be back with his phantasmagoric band, this time comprised of Mr. Beauty McHandsome himself, Greg "beauty" Smith beauty), and also Jason Tait of the Weakerthans. Opening the show are Jeen O'Brien and the illustrious and notorious hoser-poets, The Keep On Keepin' Ons. If you haven't kept on keeping on before, let us tell ya?, it's a sight to behold. They play guitars through movie projectors, say beauty more than you would think is possible, and get kicked out of their own shows. Showtime is 10 pm with Mr. Pier onstage at the stroke of midnight.

Ford will then be touring like karazee. See tour dates section below for full info.

OUR 10 SIDED DIE CAME UP WARNER!

The biggest news in our camp this month is that we signed a P&D deal with Warner Music Canada! We expect that it was our high charisma roll that got the attention of Warner's dungeon master, but it could have been last week's vitality roll. P&D is the same as D&D right...? We are really freaking out to the max about this deal, and are very excited to be working with the all the high level sorcerers and clerics over at Warner.

LUKE DOUCET LIVE RECORD OUT SOON!

To celebrate our brand new Warner deal, we are releasing a brand new Luke Doucet record! This will be our first Warner release. The new album, titled: "Outlaws [live + unreleased]", was mostly recorded live (go figure...) at the Rivoli by Lurch on Jan 10 with Bazil Donovan and Glenn Milchem of Blue Rodeo fame and Paul Brennan of Paul Brennan Overdrive (P.B.O.) fame. The album will hit the streets on September 28, the same day as Luke's tour kicks off with Danny Michel. Details of that tour will be released soon...

JUSTIN'S RUTLEDGEMENT...ER, MANAGEMENT DEAL

Another huge heralding moment for us this month (it's been an exciting month!) is that we've signed a new management artist, Justin Rutledge. His stunning debut, "No Never Alone", was just released in the UK by upstart label Shady Lane, and man oh man you should read the press. All the big mags like NME, Uncut, the Independent, and more are going totally bananas over this guy. Make yourself a part of his growing audiences (ie. increasing crowd sizes, not increasingly large individuals) at his Monday night residency here in Toronto at the Cameron House (they make a fine cranberry martini, or...ahem...crantini if you want a smack)...And what's even more fun about all of this is that we are sharing the management duties with the highly esteemed (on account of his amazingness) Richard Flohil. We can't say enough great things about Flo, and we feel honoured that we're going to get to talk to him legitimately on a regular basis. Dude seriously has some of the best stories we've ever heard. His P&D charisma roll must be off the charts. Oh hey, speaking of Justin, this just in:

JUSTIN RUTLEDGE and Junction Forty will also be playing Friday evening Sept. 3 Toronto City Roots Song Celebration, Distillery District (oooooooh!).

Justin is going to be doing some UK tour dates with Neal Casal as well which we will announce next month.

WE'RE COMING DOOR TO DOOR TO MAKE YOU THIS INCREDIBLE OFFER

We have all kinds of new stuff for sale in our webstore! Included in this month's new-stuff lineup is the CD version of Chris Wynter's award-winning musical. We will also be selling some really great limited Weakerthans posters. We have received a lively number of crotch shots for our belt buckle photo contest that we mentioned in the last newsletter. The response was so good in fact that we decided to extend the deadline for entries until the end of September. You can pick up your Six Shooter belt buckles in the webstore and get snapping.
