Aloha!
It's been a great summer, and we at Six Shooter have been contemplating things like: have you ever noticed that Crispin Lovett and Lyle Glover kinda look alike? Or is it the other way around? Oh my, where did the August go? In this issue:
Operation Infinite Patience unleashed patiently
Martin Tielli & Christine Fellows on tour
Luke Doucet in Edmonton and Wayne (the town, not the dude)
NQ Arbuckle in the UK
Captain Tractor turns ten
Six Shooter Bullet
MARTIN TIELLI
We at Six Shooter are very proud and pleased as punch to announce the release of Martin's sophomore solo release, "Operation Infinite Joy". Those of you who subscribed to Tielli 2003 should have it in your hot lil' mitts by now, and the rest of you can pick it up in stores on September 9th. Producer Jon Goldsmith has dubbed this fine record "Operation Infinite Patience" because it took so damn long to make. It therefore required patience...Get it? He replaced the word joy with the word patience! hahahahahahahahahaha...woooooooot...hahahahahahahahahaha. But yeah, it is worth every second. The new album takes a step forward from the gentle acoustics of 'Poppy Salesman' to a full throttle musical hell ride that ranges from the in-your-face to the buttery drool, offering moments of ethereal beauty alongside screaming epic rock freakouts. This inspired work was built under the leadership of aforementioned Nick Buzz co-hort and producer Jon Goldsmith (Bruce Cockburn) and creat ed with an illustrious roll call of supporting players, including Ford Pier, Barry Mirochnick, and Greg Smith.
Attention Tielli 2003 subscribers: Martin is putting the finishing touches on the artwork for "Berlin Cabaret", the second of the series, and we should have that out in the next month or so.
Upon finishing up this here newsletter which your eyes are undoubtedly devouring as though it were a piece of tofu delicately wrapped in faux bacon, please check out Martin's new website, www.martintielli.net -- Mike and James have kicked some serious interweb ass. We are oh so pleased to have his site in the hands of real fans and we'll be toasting them vigorously until they are raw and stingy when we are in Edmonton. Speaking of which, check out ze tour below:

Ford Pier's is on Sept. 26, in Toronto, and his plans are as follows: "Get drunk. Get laid. Weep. Repeat until frothy. Or for the next 364 days." And then there is the beautiful Greg Smith, who had this to say: "Beauty tour. My b-day is Oct. 2nd. I'm very excited. I'm going to eat 4 extra fatty double mustard smoked meat sandwiches. I will balance the cholesterol by ingesting copious quantities of "50"." They are all turning 17.
Oh, and by the way we need your help! I'm looking for fabulous folks in each city to help with postering beforehand, and at the merch table at the show. This is a volunteer position, but we'll repay you in drinks and swag! Please let me know if you're willing to help out.
The fun doesn't stop there. Catch Martin with his Rheo bandmates for a short prelude before the Operation Infinite Justice onslaught:
Sept 5 & 6: Blacksheep Inn, Wakefield, QC
Sept 13: Townehouse, Sudbury, ON
LUKE DOUCET & VEAL
Luke is back from kicking back in the Peg, but he just can't get enough of the prairies, so he's racing to Alberta this weekend:
Sept 5: Sugarbowl, Edmonton
Sept 6: Black Dog, Edmonton (afternoon show)
Sept 6: Waynefest, Wayne
After that, Luke skinnydips through the US on tour with pal Oh Susanna. In October, he'll rejoin his Vealmates for another UK trip followed by another Canadian tour in November. The 7" single for "I hate your lipstick" will be released in the UK at the end of September by BrightStar Recordings.
Nik has a cold. He took a few days off from working in the studio and wound up having so much fun it resulted in a sore throat and a headache. What a wimp.
Who knows what Chang is up to...what do I look like a mind reader??? Last I heard of him, he was asking my mom if she could remind him what his e-mail address is. Analogue Man, indeed.
NQ ARBUCKLE
Our own sweet NQ Arbuckle makes his maiden voyage to the UK (actually, he's going to get drunk at some fancy wedding where Fergie is supposed to be in attendance but we thought we'd set up a gig or two while he's at it). Catch him at:
Sept. 7: The Greys Pub, Brighton
Sept. 11: The Spitz Club, London (Old Spitalfields Market E1 6BG)
CAPTAIN TRACTOR
It's been a while since Captain Tractor first raised their glasses at the beer tent at the Edmonton fringe festival. Ten years, in fact. Help them celebrate their drunken resurgence at a slew of prairie dates:
Sept 6: Waynefest, Wayne, AB
Sept 19: Sidetrack Cafe, Edmonton (official 10th Anniversary party)
Sept 20: Mountain View Museum, Olds, AB
Sept 25-26: Lydia's, Saskatoon
Sept 27: The Pump, Regina
SIXSHOOTER BULLET
• What the?! This just in...new word invented...finally!!! Sixshooter labs has just informed us that after rigorous testing over the course of the summer, you are now all welcome to incorporate "bulsh" into your everyday vocabulary. Some examples of usage? Try these out: "This cold is a load of bulsh!", "My bulsh detector is going off", "What is going on with this weather? It's total bulsh!", "Where there are bulls, there is bound to be bulsh". Dig?
Rock over London, rock on Chicago (Wesley Willis R.I.P.),
