Hiya!
It seems like we just sent you some news...'cause we did! We are keeping busy, so here is a brief update.
In this issue:
Veal embarks on diplomatic mission to bring England and Canada closer together.
Martin races to finish Schoenberg before Rheos run. Did someone say pilates party?
Captain Tractor don their grey cups...it must be laundry day.
Swag handlerz rule!
VEAL
The Veal tour starts friday! Nik is so excited he had to play with spray paint to keep himself occupied until then. The results can be found on the six colour stenciled posters he made for the Edmonton show, here's a link: gigposters.com
I know we already told you the tour dates a couple weeks ago, but now we have some more info (openers, etc.) so here they are again, plus there has been a change in the UK itinerary. The boys are especially excited to play a bunch of western dates with their Edmontonian friends Slow Fresh Oil, who have the best stories about getting arrested that we've ever heard ("dude, it was just bad luck...").
Come to every single one of these dates, and you will surely win a prize:

MARTIN TIELLI
Martin has triumphantly returned from his tour, losing his wallet and his sanity only a few times. He's frantically finishing the art for the Schoenberg CD (the second of the series), and so we should have that out to you soon, like Decemberish.
Martin is also bracing himself for the 3rd Annual Rheostatics Fall Nationals -- a 13-day stint at the legendary Horseshoe Tavern from November 10-22.
Borne from their traditional Green Sprouts Music Weeks, the FALL NATIONALS will showcase Etobicoke's Sound Ambassadors in full splendour, featuring epic two and a half hour shows at sliding prices that will draw from their illustrious twelve album career, including "Whale Music," recently named 'greatest Canadian album of all time' by CBC Radio. Holy crap! What is that, 32.5 hours of live music? Of course we all know that if the rheos were really tough, they'd play for 32 hours straight rather than splitting it up over 13 days. Sissies.
The dudes will be welcoming a phantasmagoric myriad of openers and guest stars over the course of the run, so you may want to pick up a weeklong or 13 night pass. Some passes will be raffled off at SOUNDSCAPES record depot on Nov 8th, when les 'statics will engage in an instore performance to launch their marathon of sound.
Oh, and did we mention that this event also marks the release of "Maple Serum: Rheostatics Live at the Horseshoe", a concert DVD from the Rheos' first FALL NATIONALS, produced and directed by Justin Stephenson? CASBY hall of famers indeed.
What is this, a novella?
