Hello darlings,
Just a quickie for ya:

  • Luke/NQ date corrections

  • Leprechaun reminder

  • Dave Bidini scores in Edmonton

In my last e-mail, I screwed up the dates for the LUKE DOUCET/NQ ARBUCKLE shows coming up. Sorry about that. Here is the real deal:

Wed. Mar 19 * Zaphod's, Ottawa, tix $8, showtime 9 pm
Thurs. Mar 20 * Merchant MacLiam, Kingston, tix $5, showtime 10:30 pm
Fri. Mar 21 * Le Petit Campus, Montreal, OFFICIAL MONTREAL NQ CD RELEASE, full band, tix $8.50, showtime 8:30 pm

ATTENTION ALBERTA!

This Saturday, March 15th - Captain Tractor presents: Liverdance 2003! Put on your big buckle shoes, get good and hydrated and get ready to shake your shamrock for all it is worth at Nashville's Roadhouse Tavern (West Edmonton Mall or WEM for you shopping savvy). Joe Bird and his rabble will be blarneying you up and then Tractor (joined by fiddlin' Juno award winnin' Shannon Johnson) will turn your blood green (and that's not the alcohol poisoning) and make your feet get jiggy with it (Big William O'Smith Style). Tix at $15 at ticketmaster! Lepre-get 'em before they're lepre-gone!

Dave Bidini in e-town! On Sunday, March 23, catch a screening of The Hockey Nomad - a quirky and enlightening documentary about Dave Bidini's unusual search for the true spirit of hockey in unlikely places. Bidini's quest takes him far from the corporate branded arenas and millionaire players of professional hockey to lesser-known rinks in Dubai, Transylvania and Mongolia. In each upstart hockey nation, Bidini explores the origin of the local game and meets the eccentric and passionate people who play it. Following the screening there will be a Q&A with author and musician Dave Bidini. Check it out from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Stanley A. Milner Library theatre, 7 Sir Winston Churchill Square in Edmonton. Admission is free on a first-come, first-served basis.

Beauty on,
Shauna (and Brock)

p.s. for those of you who are planning to log on for the scheduled e-chat with Martin after the airing of Zed (which is at 11:45 pm - I assume EST - on March 13th), we are still trying to get through the tech problems to make this happen. Apparently, the CBC love their PC's, and us Six Shooter kids are all Mac babies. So we're having some compatability issues. But we hope to work them out so please do try logging on.
