Hiiiiii-yaa! This is but a brief missive:
Greased up Veal waddles across Canada
Martin Tielli...pure sumptuosity
VEAL
After a whirlwind trip to the UK last month, Veal is obsessed with the English breakfast. Picture this: two undercooked eggs, a bunch of greasy fries, a pile of beans, mushrooms (?), a grilled tomato, and if you're a filthy meat eater, they'll even throw some pig on there for you. It's really all you need to eat in a day. A week's worth of hearty breakfasts in the UK has prepared the Veal boys to return to the Canadian trenches and begin promoting their new album, The Embattled Hearts, which is due in stores on June 17th. The album was recorded last year in Vancouver by knob-twiddler (that's what we call it in tha biz) Steven "lil' Stevie" Drake, and we took all this time releasing it just so that we could ensure that it is perfect for you...the listener. Of course that means all the artwork and illustrations are done by...our fave...Tyler Clark Burke of three gut records fame. Check out the cross Canada attack:

Also, be sure to check out the completely redone and updated Veal website which remains at... www.vealmusic.com . It's blogtastic. Blog. blogiddy blogiddy blog. I just blogged all over my shirt. Is that your blog or are you just happy to see me? Who needs to invent new words when there are already words like...BLOG!!!
blog.
MARTIN TIELLI
After an all-consuming illustration binge, Martin Tielli is ready to purge (these things come in twos y'see) the artwork to his new disc, Operation Infinite Joy. At last. Just three months behind schedule. The beautiful, 24-page booklet is filled with lush, original illustrations - sumptuous artwork to match a sumdiddlyumptuous recording. The project is off to the manufacturer this week, which means that the wonderful, patient fanatics who have ordered Tielli 2003 will still need to wait a mere few weeks yet. We'll send you an e-mail as soon as yours is in the post (or the mail as some people like to call it). I know I keep saying this, but I'm sure you will agree that it has been worth the wait once you see and hear the album on account of it being splendid and all. Thanks again for not letter-bombing the Six Shooter office in frustration (don't get any ideas, wiseguy!). The retail version of this album will be released in stores in September, with a national tour to fo llow in late Sept/early October.
I had a cryptic conversation with Martin earlier tonight, where I got this second hand information about some upcoming Rheostatics shows. Take your chances:
TORONTO: Tues. June 17 @ The Bamboo, a fundraiser that has something to do with the honourable David Suzuki, tix $10.
SYDNEY: Thurs. June 19 @ Chandlers.
MONCTON: Fri. June 20 @ the Oxygen Club.
HALIFAX: Sat. June 21 @ the Marquee.
I also heard a rumour about a show in LONDON, ON: Fri. June 27 @ Call the Office.
For those of you in search of Martin on-line, you can find him at www.martintielli.net -- watch for a new site design and features soon.
Blog on.
