(closest Tube: Tottenham Court Road), LUKE DOUCET solo

Wed. Sept. 25, 10 pm, Buffalo Bar, 259 Upper St., Islington
(closest Tube: Islington & Highbury) VEAL

Thurs. Sept. 26, 9:20 pm, Radius, Goslett Yard,
(closest Tube: Tottenham Court Road) VEAL

In other Veal news:

• Chang has been spending those long hours in the van sewing himself a Union Jack jumpsuit, which he plans to unveil in London.

• Upon reading the debaucherous Motley Crue biography "The Dirt", Nik has once again adopted his high school nickname, Nikki 7.

• Luke Doucet is also cooking up Canadian tour in October/November, but at this point, we only have two confirmed dates:

KINGSTON: Oct. 26, Queen's U, Kingston
TORONTO: Nov. 8, The Rivoli

Double dog dare you to hold your breath until more dates appear.

NQ ARBUCKLE

Hanging the Battle-scarred Pinata is finally in stores now, and will soon also be available at www.lodestarmusic.com. The official CD release bash is Nov. 2 at the Rivoli in Toronto. Put on your blindfold and swing that stick like mad.

MARTIN TIELLI

Martin is finally coming out of his shell...he spent the summer on a writing binge, and now we're trying to sort out just how many records a person can release in the space of a year. Sixshooter staff are working hard to build a warehouse entirely from old soup cans to house all of the new releases.

Meanwhile, safety is just around the corner because Operation Infinite Justice is back:

HALIFAX: Oct. 4, The Attic, Halifax Pop Explosion
ST. JOHN: Oct. 5, University of New Brunswick
TORONTO: Oct. 11, The Rivoli
TORONTO: Oct. 12, The Rivoli

SIX SHOOTER BULLETS

  • Christine Fellows contemplates returning to Ontario in October...she has been sitting there for days with a blindfold, a matchbook, and a giant slurpee just thinking about it and taking notes...I'll keep you posted.

  • Exciting changes are in the works for www.lodestarmusic.com. The fabulous Laura has been working tirelessly at loading more titles, pretty much doubling the stock available on the site. Also coming are exciting design changes - stay tuned. Meanwhile, check out the additions as they come up. The Buttless Chaps, By Divine Right, The Cash Brothers, The Constantines, Corb Lund, Cy Scobie, The Fembots, Gentleman Reg, Hawksley Workman, Hayden, Jason Collett, John Ford, The Lowest of the Low, Luther Wright and the Wrongs, Kathryn Rose, Nathan, Oxford County Circus, Paul Bellows, Paul MacLeod, Radiogram, The Rheostatics, Rich Hope, Royal City, Sarah Slean, Selina Martin, Tamara Williamson, Tom Holliston, Tory Cassis, The Touchtone Gurus, Veda Hille, and Wayne Omaha are all coming on board. Hot hot hot.

If you play all of these records at full blast simultaneously, you are sure to make a lot of new friends in your neighborhood.

Ciao for now. Beauty on,

Shauna
(and Nikki 7)
