NQ ARBUCKLE
NQ Arbuckle joins a stellar line up including The Sadies, The Constantines, By Divine Right, Selina Martin Band, and Leslie Feist at the 4th Annual Dog Day Afternoon on Sunday, August 18. This is a small affair for the dogs by the dogs, with tickets available only in advance ($20). Contact Lil at milanovichlil@hotmail.com for info.
FORD PIER
Ford says I should start crediting the lyrics that I use for these newsletters, to "contextualize" them, as he puts it. I thought it was more fun to let you figure it out for yourself, but maybe he's right...and my mom agrees with him. So this entry's title is taken from Caesar's Wife", a song from the as yet unfinished "Pieric Victory".
Speaking of the dashing Ford Pier, stop by to see his show at the Cafe May tonight (Friday, August 9) and buy me a birthday drink. Ford told me he'd let me write the set list and personally make sure I'm well libated (is that a word?). I figure no one would be better at libation donation than Mr. Pier, though I'm somewhat afraid that I have an evening of bricklayers and mishkalishkas ahead of me. Writing the set list might not be a realistic goal after all.
Beauty on,
Shauna (and Nik)
